Gold Mickey Mouse Accutron

Postby Farquhar » Tue Feb 09, 2010 12:40 am

I am new to this form, and i have a question. i just received a watch and I cannot find any information on it. All i know is that it was my grandfathers and it was given to him by the Disney company in the early 70's as a gift for a convention he helped organize. I can't find any info on this watch. I was hoping someone could tell me if this is something special, beyond the family history behind it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Although I am a 36 year full-time vintage timepiece specialist,,,,, family heirlooms and family history are incredibly important to me. With over 900 watches in stock, the most prized watch I own is the railroad pocket watch my grandfather gave me when I was 12 years old. So, your #1 priority is family heirloom sentiment.
Being an Accutron watch that is still 100% original and working perfectly combined with the extra benefit of being a Mickey Mouse watch certainly does not hurt its value.
The "short" answer is "yes" a Mickey Accutron is something special beyond family history. However,,,,,, all of this is actually without merit. Why???? Because more than likely (just like my grandfathers pocket watch) you would not part with your timepiece any more than I would mine. So,,,,,,,,, its "value" (like my grandfathers watch) is actually moot.
Respectfully, Boomer
